Study rejects vaccine fears

London - A new study today raised the prospect of further confusion over the safety of triple vaccine jabs for children. Two months after researchers suggested a link between the vaccine and bowel disease and autism, another group of scientists has rejected the claim. Alarm arose over the possibility of a connection between the Measles Mumps and Rubella (MMR) jab and an unusual syndrome of chronic bowel inflammation and autism. Dr Andrew Wakefield, of the Royal Free Hospital, London, who led the research which was published in the Lancet medical journal, advised the three vaccines to be given separately until the MMR risk was better understood.
