The girlfriend of a murdered Romanian national whose body was found dumped in a suitcase in the Royal Canal last July has been remanded in custody by the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court

Thirty-one-year old Marina Souroutzeva was remanded in custody pending a psychological report.

She had brought two Russians to her flat to teach her boyfriend, Adrian Besta, a lesson after she alleged he beat her over a period of two years.

Adrian Besta was beaten over a period of four-and-a-half hours and died in an armchair in the flat. One of the Russians said they killed him because he talked too much. The walls and floor in the room he was killed in were covered with blood.
