CRICKET: England failed in their race against time to dismiss West Indies as the third Test ended in a nailbiting draw at the Antigua Recreation Ground. Andrew Strauss' team remain 1-0 behind in the Test series after West Indies' last pair Daren Powell and Fidel Edwards saw out the final 10 overs.
West Indies closed on 370 for nine, with four scheduled overs remaining, when the offer of bad light by umpires Daryl Harper and Rudi Koertzen was taken.
Ramnaresh Sarwan led West Indies' resistance in a determined 148-run partnership until seamer Stuart Broad broke through for the tourists.
Broad dismissed Sarwan for 106 and then Chanderpaul for 55 to allow England to get their teeth into the West Indies lower order but the last pair showed great determination to hang on with catching fielders all around the bat.
