Sunderland have signed French international striker Lilian Laslandes in a Stg£3.6million deal.
The 29-year-old Bordeaux marksman has penned a four-year contract after five seasons with the French First Division club.
He said: "I think it will be a great experience to play for Sunderland and I hope to be very successful.
"I chose Sunderland because I think it is a great club with a good team and a beautiful stadium. I wanted to play English football and have followed the Premiership on the television.
"I am very ambitious and I am looking forward to playing for Sunderland."
Laslandes has been capped seven times for his country and scored three goals, and last season helped Bordeaux climb to fourth in the league.
He also won the French league and cup with former club Auxerre.
