The home of the alleged British army agent known as "Stakeknife" was at the centre of a security alert today.
British army bomb disposal experts were called in to carry out a controlled explosion on a suspect device that police later claimed to be an "elaborate hoax".
Sinn Féin claimed it was a pipe bomb.
The house at Riverdale Park North, Andersonstown, west Belfast, is owned by Mr Freddie Scappaticci, who has denied being an agent who worked for British intelligence.

Former Sinn Féin Belfast Lord Mayor Alex Maskey said: "Mr Scappaticci and his family should be left to get on with their lives in peace".
