British army bomb disposal experts were called in to examine a number of suspicious packages delivered to the Stormont Parliament Building near Belfast today.
A police spokeswoman said the building - home to Northern Ireland's suspended Assembly - was not evacuated.
The army bomb experts were dealing with the packages at the rear of the building, she said.
A spokesman for the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister said three packages were at the centre of the alert.
