Gardai have described as suspicious the circumstances surrounding the death of a 41-year-old man whose body was found in a house in Bandon, Co Cork, yesterday afternoon. The unemployed man had not been seen for several days and concerned neighbours contacted gardai.
The deceased was not from the area but had lived there for a time. Gardai preserved the scene overnight pending an initial examination by the State pathologist, Dr John Harbison. The body is to be removed to the morgue today, where a full post-mortem examination will then be carried out. The results are expected by noon.
