The State has been allowed three weeks to prepare the book of evidence in the case of a man charged with attacking an off-duty garda at the Swedish House Mafia concert in the Phoenix Park in Dublin last year.

Seán Hulgrain (22), Thornfield Square, Clondalkin, was charged at Dublin District Court last October with assault causing harm to Wayne Keown at the concert on July 7th, which was attended by about 45,000 people. Mr Hulgrain made his fourth District Court appearance yesterday.

The DPP has decided that Mr Hulgrain, who is on bail, must face trial on indictment.

This means his case will be heard at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, which, on conviction, has wider sentencing powers.

At the District Court yesterday, Judge Bryan Smyth heard that the State required more time to complete the book of evidence.

Mr Hulgrain’s lawyer said her client was agreeable to the case being adjourned for three weeks. He was remanded on continuing bail to appear again on March 14th when he is to be returned for trial.
