A Good Samaritan who took in a Swedish woman who was looking for somewhere to stay for the night was stabbed to death by her the following day, Luton Crown Court was told.

Sabina Eriksson (42), who was yesterday sentenced to five years in prison, had recently lived in Mallow, Co Cork, before getting involved in bizarre behaviour in Britain, the court heard. Her exploits on a motorway had been shown on YouTube.

But the victim, Glenn Hollinshead, had no idea of the strange behaviour Eriksson and her twin sister Ursula had been involved in two days previously – repeatedly running among fast-moving traffic on the M6 motorway.

The judge told the court: “Having listened to the doctors, I am not of the opinion that the risk [to the public] is significant.”
