There is still time for anyone in the dairy business who wants to know more about converting to organic dairy farming to get down to the Celtic Ross Hotel, in Roscarbery, in west Cork, for a conference organised by the Growing Awareness Group, which kicks off today at 2 p.m.
The conference offers practical information on all aspects of organic dairy farming, from starting conversion through to marketing milk and dairy products.
Speakers include Finnain McNaidhe from Teagasc; Pat Mulrooney, an organic dairy farmer; Tom Farrington, a homeopathic vet; and Vincent Cleary of Glenisk Dairies, which produces organic milk. Admission is free.
