Shares in Green Property have jumped 22-1/2 to 607-1/2 on the London Stock Exchange after a report in the British newspaper The Businessthat Land Securities is putting the finishing touches to a bid worth up to stg £775 million.
Green Property is one of Ireland's largest property companies and is listed on both the London and Dublin Stock Exchanges. It has a wide portfolio of retail, office, and industrial premises across Ireland and Britain, including the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.
Its assets are valued in excess of €2 billion.
Land Securities assets are valued at close to stg£8 billion and the company has considerable interests in central London office and retail space.
