The Tanaiste is due to arrive in Tokyo tomorrow, at the start of a 10-day trade mission to Japan, New Zealand and Australia.
Ms Harney returns home on February 11th, after a day and night stopover in Hawaii, where she has no official engagements, according to an itinerary issued yesterday.
The Tanaiste will meet Irish and Japanese business representatives on Monday and Tuesday, as well as political leaders including the Prime Minister, Mr Keizo Obuchi.
On Wednesday she starts a four-day visit to New Zealand, where her itinerary includes an address at the official opening of congress.
Flying on to Australia next weekend, she will visit the Sydney Olympics site and meet government ministers and business leaders. She will spend two days in Sydney before travelling to Melbourne, from where she goes to Hawaii.
