The Taoiseach is to meet Sinn Féin president Mr Gerry Adams in Dublin today.
It is thought the leaders will discuss the likelihood of an IRA statement this month.
The Taoiseach told the Dáil last month that the Irish and British governments believed the IRA might respond before the August holiday break to Gerry Adams's call to embrace democracy.
It is understood the men will also discuss problems during recent contentious Orange marches in the North.
