The Taoiseach will hold a series of meetings on Northern Ireland in the next few days, culminating in a meeting at Downing Street with the British Prime Minister on Monday.

In advance of the August political break, Mr Ahern will meet the Sinn Fein president, Mr Gerry Adams, at Government Buildings at lunchtime today. He will meet the North's First Minister, Mr David Trimble, in Dublin tomorrow morning. The two will discuss a number of issues including the prospect of a second meeting of the North/South Council, now expected to take place in Dublin in September.
