The Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, yesterday said he regretted the controversy surrounding the sale of photographs from the wedding of his daughter, Georgina, last month.
"I think a lot of things happened during the summer that I think were unnecessary and it's a pity and some of it was sad. But that's life," the Taoiseach said.
Speaking as he prepared to resume work after his summer break, Mr Ahern said: "All of my energies and my activity are aiming to make sure we can keep the economy steady."
