A dispute between a cab drivers organisation and the Commission for Taxi Regulation over a sit-in at its offices last month has been settled, the High Court heard yesterday.

Last month, the taxi regulator obtained an injunction against the Irish Taxi Council preventing its members continuing the sit-in. Council president Frank Byrne agreed to abide by the injunction but asked the court to adjourn the proceedings.

Sara Moorhead SC, for the regulator, told Ms Justice Mary Laffoy that the matter was settled on terms that included the drivers agreeing to permanent injunctions prohibiting trespass on the regulator’s offices or a car park used by its employees.
