Boxing:For Katie Taylor the accolades and honours just keep on coming and next month the Bray boxer will be presented with her second International Boxing Association (AIBA) world female boxer of the year award.

Taylor secured her third consecutive AIBA world lightweight title in Barbados last month and the association’s president Dr Ching-Kuo Wu confirmed the Irish boxer would receive her second world boxer award at the November 2nd ceremony in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Taylor received the world boxer award in Moscow in 2008 but there was no award for 2009.

The 24-year-old defeated China’s Cheng Dong 18-5 to retain her title in Barbados in September to add to her European and European Union titles. The Barbados win against Dong was her 100th victory from 106 bouts since 2001.
