Cardiff - A head teacher cleared on appeal of slapping an unruly pupil could be back at work as soon as next week, the school's chairman of governors said last night.
Mr Graham Powell said the board of governors had come to a decision over the suspension of Ms Marjorie Evans in a meeting at the south Wales school yesterday afternoon.
There were scenes of jubilation today when a High Court judge at Cardiff Crown Court quashed her conviction for slapping an unruly pupil. Ms Evans always denied the assault but admitted she had restrained the 10-year-old boy after he tried to push and butt her when he was banned from going swimming.
