A 15-year-old boy was remanded in custody yesterday after he was accused of vandalising his family home.
The south Dublin teenager made no reply when he was charged at the Children’s Court with criminal damage to the front door and a wall at his home last Sunday.
The boy, who had not been before the courts previously, wept during the hearing, to which he was accompanied by his father. No application for bail was made.
Defence solicitor Gareth Noble told Judge Clare Leonard the father was willing to take his son home if some assistance is provided. There had been “substance misuse concerns” in relation to the teenager, the judge heard.
