A teenager was seriously injured after being beaten by a gang during a loyalist band parade in Northern Ireland, police disclosed today.
The victim, aged 16, was taken to hospital with face and neck wounds following the assault behind a community centre in Co Antrim.
He was hit repeatedly during the attack in Ballyduff last night.
Police, who have not yet revealed a motive, said today he was in a serious but stable condition.
Meanwhile, two people were being questioned today about an attack in Derry that left two men needing hospital treatment.
They were arrested after the victims were assaulted in the Bracken Park area of the city at around 2am.
One of the victims was serious but stable suffering from head injuries.
The second man, who received cuts and bruising to his face and body, was described as comfortable.
Investigating detectives are still trying to establish why they were attacked.
