A teenager has drowned in a reservoir.

Emergency services were called to the 35ft deep reservoir in Creggan, Co Derry early today where police divers later recovered the body of the man, in his late teens, at about 6.30am.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

Paddy Wilson, from Foyle Search and Rescue, said he believed some young people had been having a party around the reservoir and the victim had tried to swim to a floating platform. He appealed for people to take care.
