Three teenagers have been charged with the manslaughter of 17-year-old Alan Higgins who died following an alleged assault and robbery in Dublin late last year.
Two 16-year-old boys facing robbery charges connected with the incident were today also charged with manslaughter at the Children's Court in Dublin. They had already been charged with the theft of a mobile phone and a wallet of unknown value, on October 12th last, arising out of the same incident.
Mr Higgins died after an incident near the UCI cinema complex in Coolock on October 12th, 2002.
In the same month, a 15-year-old boy was charged with manslaughter in connection with Mr Higgins' death and also with a robbery offence.
The bail conditions of the 15-year-old require him to sign on daily at Coolock Garda Station. He also faces a curfew from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
The 16-year-old boys were bailed today and ordered to sign on at Coolock daily and obey a 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew. Their independent surety was increased to €1,500 due to the gravity of the new charges.
