Two teenagers are being questioned by gardai after a couple were robbed at gunpoint at their home in Dublin.

Two teenagers are being questioned by gardai after a couple were robbed at gunpoint at their home in Dublin.

Two young men broke into a house in Kilcoran Avenue, Clondalkin, in the west of the city in the early hours of Sunday and threatened them with a handgun.

They stole a car and two mobile phones before fleeing from the scene.

Hours later, two teenagers were spotted trying to steal another car in Templemore, Co Tipperary and were arrested by gardai following a chase.

The car stolen in Dublin was later found burnt out in Tipperary.

Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, are being held at Templemore Garda station under section four of the Criminal Justice Act and can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
