Tele2, the alternative fixed-line phone operator, will transfer its customer care and inbound call centre from India to Dublin, with the creation of 26 new jobs.

Previously the call centre was shared with the UK branch of the company however now all calls to Tele2 Ireland’s customer service and freephone registration lines will be answered in here.

Tele2, which has 28 million customers in 24 European markets claims to undercut Eircom by up to 77 per cent on national calls and 88 per cent on international calls.

The company already employs almost 200 people in its centres throughout the country.
