Dutch telecoms company KPN is to cut an extra 1,300 jobs.
It says the jobs, to be lost through natural wastage by 2004, are on top of 4,800 redundancies already announced.
Earlier this month, KPN agreed with Dutch unions to limit forced redundancies at the company to 2,800. It was also agreed that some KPN employees and management, including the executive board, would take a pay cut.
The unions had agreed to freeze wages at 2001 levels until 2003 in exchange for a stock option programme open to all personnel.
About 2,000 employees facing dismissal are now expected to resign voluntarily.
There was better news for KPN earlier this month when its mobile unit agreed to co-operate with mmO2 in building a 3G network in Holland.
MmO2 signed a tentative agreement with KPN Mobile, and a firmer deal is expected to be finalised in the spring.
MmO2's Dutch unit, Telfort Mobiel, and KPN Mobile aim to set up 3G network coverage in Holland by January 2007.
