The British Foreign Office has expressed concerns that the inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix could be subject to terrorist attack when it goes ahead next April.

According to reports, the race is 'under review' on the part of the Foreign Office. It's feared that extremists may attack an event such as the race, which would attract a large amount of the Western interest in the area.

The race is the first F1 Grand Prix to be held in the Middle East.

Formula One Management commented that it had been warned of the situation.
