The challenges posed by the digital economy are not only technological but, to a large extent, strategic in nature. We must ensure in the immediate future that not only are the basic infrastructural requirements put in place, but also that the full potential of ICTs (information communications technologies) are realised for the benefit of enterprise and employment - The Tanaiste, Ms Harney, addressing the "Thriving and Surviving On-Line Conference" last Tuesday.

We must ensure in the immediate future that not only are the basic infrastructural requirements put in place, but also that the full potential of ICTs are realised for the benefit of both enterprise and employment - The Minister for Science, Technology and Commerce, Mr Noel Treacy, echoing the sentiments at the Launch of the Small Firms Association's Publication on "E- Business, a Comprehensive Guide for Small Business", also on Tuesday.
