7.55 a.m. Air Force One arrives at Dublin Airport. The welcoming party for President Clinton, Mrs Clinton and their daughter Chelsea is to be led by the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, Ms Celia Larkin, and the Tanaiste, Ms Harney. The Clintons transfer at the airport to the President's Marine One helicopter.

8.25 a.m. Helicopter lands at the Papal Cross, outside the US ambassador's residence. 8.40 a.m. Enter US ambassador's residence.

10.25 a.m. Arrive at Aras an Uachtarain, to be greeted by the President, Mrs McAleese, and family. Weather permitting, the visit will include a stroll in the garden. Motorcade departs 11.05 a.m. for city centre carrying President Clinton. Mrs Clinton returns to US ambassador's residence for meeting with women parliamentarians.

11.20 a.m. Arrive in Government Buildings for meeting with the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern.

12.30 p.m. Arrive at Guinness Storehouse, James's Gate for function with 1,900 guests.

4.30 p.m. Private meeting with representatives of the US community at the US ambassador's residence, Phoenix Park, before departing for Dundalk (where entertainment at Market Square starts at 3.30 p.m.)

Dundalk

6.40 p.m. Arrives Dundalk, Aiken barracks. Motorcade to Market Square.

7.10 p.m. Arrives onstage. Address by President Clinton. More entertainment including Brian Kennedy singing Danny Boy.

8.05 p.m. President leaves stage to meet the crowd along the "rope line", before returning to stage and then leaving Market Square for helicopter.

8.55 p.m. Helicopter departs for Belfast.

Tomorrow

The provisional itinerary for tomorrow includes: 9 a.m. President goes to Parliament Buildings at Stormont, for meetings with the First Minister Mr Trimble and Deputy First Minister Mr Mallon, and meetings with party leaders and members of the Assembly.

3 p.m. Speech at Odyssey Centre.

5 p.m. approx: Flies to England for dinner at Chequers, the British Prime Minister's country retreat, at 7 p.m.

Travels to University of Warwick for honorary degree. London press conference, probably at Downing Street. Private time with the Blairs.

Flies home in the afternoon.
