Agenda 2000 - with its proposals for the enlargement and the future financing of the Union - took pride of place in this month's agenda. The annual report of the Court of Auditors also prompted a lively debate - with calls from all sides for more effective administration of the Union's budget. Other topics covered included human rights, credit card fraud, testing new drugs, employment and social dialogue, equal opportunities, trade dispute with the US, structural fund reforms, fisheries and the Middle East Peace initiative.
