The New Radicals: Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too

This is the band behind the hit single You Get What You Give, the catchiest American pop song since the Friends theme. The song has stormed the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, thanks to the mall-quaking energy of Gregg Alexander, the band's Michigan-born singer and songwriter, and songs such as Jehovah Made This Whole Joint For You and I Hope I Didn't Just Give Away the Ending take gentle pot-shots at America's most bizarre, from would-be nuns with coke habits to paranoid peace-niks with guns, while a whole parade of hypocrisies and injustices trudge through the title track. Although there's a vibrancy and electricity in Gotta Stay High and Technicolour Lover, there's a tingling sensation that this bright spark could get on your nerves pretty quickly.
