Corcadorca Theatre Company brings theatre back to its religious roots on Good Friday with its ambitious, open-air passion play, The Trial Of Jesus. Performed on the streets of Cork, it will re-enact the trial and crucifixion of Jesus Christ in five episodes, through the words of writer Conal Creedon (Under The Goldie Fish) and the visual imagination of director Pat Kiernan (Disco Pigs). Taking the baton from Galway’s Macnas and reviving the rich tradition of passion plays and religious processions that pervades Catholic Europe, The Trial of Jesus will involve amateur and community actors and musicians. It’s open to spectators of all creeds or none. See listings for details.
Patrick's Hill, Cork, from 9 p.m., admission free.
