Founded in 1997, Drogheda's Upstate Theatre Project is a dynamic organisation with an integrated policy linking production, innovation, learning and local development. It recently completed its second year, having already forged a record of achievement worthy of note by theatre monitors and patrons. Upstate is, with typical enterprise, taking its case to Dublin next week.

For four days - December 8th to 11th - at the Theatre Space in Henry Place, it will present a showcase of performances, workshop and talks exploring theatre in today's community. The programme will centre around the much-praised production of Hades, a play by artistic director Declan O'Gorman, which won the 1999 Stewart Parker Award and the Northern Ireland Community Relations Council Award. Pictured right is Ciaran Kenny as the boxer in the production. The whole amounts to an event full of interest for theatre professionals and audiences.
