Globex, a new theatre company bursts onto the scene at Tallaght's Civic Theatre this week with an old play, Franz Kafka's The Trial. A novel interpretation is promised, however - Irish Times/ ESB bursary-winner, Niall O'Driscoll directs a cast of 40, 20 of which are drawn from community groups. These co-productions are to be one of the hallmarks of Globex's works.

The version will evoke the individual's loss of identity in the rapidly changing urban environment, where the media - "meeja" to you - are increasingly powerful. This is millennial angst on a grand scale, and should give Kafka's classic a new chill.
