Seven men with addresses in Dublin, Kildare, Louth and Meath who were arrested in a crackdown on vehicle thefts were further remanded at a court sitting in Co Monaghan yesterday.
Judge Flann Brennan adjourned all the cases to March 23rd, remanding the defendants on continuing bail.
The accused are: Mr Lee Tobin (18), Chapel Lawn, Clonsilla, who is charged with stealing a car valued at £16,000; Mr Paul Byrne (30), of College Road, Clane, Co Kildare, charged with handling a stolen jeep; Mr Vincent Kelly (25), of Foxborough Glen, Balgaddy, Lucan, charged with stealing a jeep; Mr Damien Glavin (37), of Malahide Road, Dublin, charged with stealing a car valued at £16,000; Mr Michael Byrne (54), College Road, Clane, charged with handling a stolen jeep; Mr Stephen Mulvanny (23), of Rathory Cross, Ardee, Co Louth, charged with handling a stolen car and a minibus; and Mr Patrick McNally (41), of The Rock, Trim, Co Meath, charged with handling a stolen car valued at £16,000.
