While the Grand Slam dream was shattered yesterday, die-hard rugby fans will hope for a return to form by the time Ireland travel to the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia in October.

However, it could cost them as much as €7,000 if Ireland gets to the final.

Ireland is one of 20 nations to qualify for the World Cup Finals and the team will play their first game against Romania on October 11th in Gosford, New South Wales.

Like the thousands of soccer fans who flew to the Far East last year, a long-haul flight will not deter thousands of Irish rugby fans from supporting the team in Australia.
