A third man has been charged in connection with the murder of a Scottish man in Co Derry last weekend.

A third man has been charged in connection with the murder of a Scottish man in Co Derry last weekend.

Ronald Mackie (36), from Stirling, died after he was assaulted and then thrown into the path of an oncoming car at Maghera Road, Tobermore, on Saturday.

The suspect is due before magistrates in Derry later today.

Two men - John Richard Stewart (41) of King William III Crescent, Maghera, Co Derry, and Thomas Rodney Colgan (29), also of King William III Crescent - have been remanded in custody charged with the murder.

Another man questioned over causing death by dangerous driving has been freed on police bail.

Three other men arrested for questioning in relation to MrMackie's murder have been released without charge.
