More than 20,000 spectators are expected to attend the Northern Ireland International Airshow at Portrush today.
The largest passenger plane in the world, the 525-seat Airbus A380, will be among the attractions that will fly over the crowds.
A range of classic and modern aircraft and displays from the RAF Red Arrows and naval helicopters will also brighten up the skies.
Motorists are warned to expect delays in the area.
Nelson McCausland, minister for culture, arts and leisure, said the airshow was a brilliant family event which has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 2002.
“Northern Ireland’s reputation as a venue for quality international events and home-grown festivals has soared in recent years,” said Mr McCausland.
“Since becoming Minister I have been impressed by the variety and quality of the events that take place across Northern Ireland. The imagination, enthusiasm and commitment of organisers has combined with increased skills and experience to deliver significant growth in Northern Ireland’s capacity to host major events.”
Mr McCausland said it was very encouraging and exciting to see first hand the talent and skill of the teams behind Northern Ireland’s rich programme of events.
“These teams, often volunteers, are involved in event planning, risk and safety management, stewarding, marshalling, first aid provision and fund raising,” he added.
