Three arrested over Belfast weapons finds

Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with weapons finds in north Belfast.

One man was arrested after an explosive device was uncovered at a house on Kildare Street yesterday.

A house on the same street was raided later and a man and a woman were arrested in connection with the seizure of a gun.

Also in Belfast, ammunition and two pipe bombs were found behind a building in the Mountforde Drive area of Mountpottinger in the east of the city.

British army bomb experts carried out controlled explosions on the devices, forcing the evacuation of some local residents.
