Three British soldiers found guilty of abusing Iraqi prisoners are to be sentenced today.
The soldiers, from the 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, face imprisonment and discharged from the army.
Corporal Daniel Kenyon (33) and Lance Corporal Mark Cooley (25) were found guilty of taking part in the mistreatment of captured looters at Camp Bread Basket, in Basra, in May 2003. Lance Corporal Darren Larkin (30) pleaded guilty to assaulting an Iraqi prisoner.
The fate of the soldiers will be decided by a panel of seven senior officers and Judge Advocate Michael Hunter at a court martial centre, in Osnabruck, Germany.
The soldiers' legal teams are expected to deliver several hours of mitigation before the panel and judge retire to consider the sentences.
Cpl Kenyon and Lce Cpl Cooley face up to two years in prison and Lce Cpl Larkin could be sentenced to a total of six months.
All three could be discharged from the military. The panel found Kenyon and Cooley guilty on Wednesday following eight hours of deliberations.
The pair, who served in the Milan Platoon, were brought to trial after the emergence of "trophy" photographs of abuse, including images of sexual humiliation.
