Three Dublin men were charged with the robbery of the TSB Bank in Clonmel, Co Tipperary on Tuesday when they appeared before Judge Joseph Mangan at a special sitting of Fermoy District Court last night.

Mr Paul Hart (52) of Glencarrig Court, Dublin; Mr Larry Cummins (28) from Dunnes Street Flats, North Strand, Dublin; and Mr Christopher Gilroy (25) from Blessington Street, Dublin were charged with stealing £15,760 from the bank.

All three were also charged with having firearms with intent to commit robbery on the same occasion. Det Sgt Mick Lewis, Det Garda Tom Ryan and Garda Padraig Tobin gave evidence of arresting all three and charging them.

Supt Kieran McGann said the Garda had no objection to substantial bail for the three men. None was legally represented but all said they would have problems getting the cash to meet substantial bail terms.
