Three people have been killed in separate road crashes across the island. A woman (80) was killed in an M50 collision last night while another woman (27) died in a crash in Co Cork early this morning and a man (19) died in a Co Down crash yesterday.
Gardaí said the 80-year-old woman was the only occupant of a car which collided with a van in Dublin at 10.30pm last night.
The crash took place at the N4 Lucan exit on the northbound side of the Dublin motorway. The driver of the van was injured but not seriously.
The M50 was closed for a period to allow collision investigators to examine the scene, but has since reopened.

Separately a woman has died in a single-car road crash in Co Cork early this morning.
The 27-year-old was pronounced dead in Cork University Hospital after the single-car crash in the village of Donoughmore at 1am.
A 29-year-old man who in the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The scene of the collision is closed for a forensic examination. Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact Macroom Garda station on (026) 20590.
Meanwhile the PSNI said a 19-year-old man died in a road crash in Co Down yesterday. The crash took place at Castlewellan Rd, Ballyward, Banbridge at abnout 3.30pm the PSNI said. It has appealed for witnesses.
