Three German skiers died on Sunday in an avalanche in the western Austrian province of Tyrol.
The accident happened when four people were trekking and skiing just below the 3,039 metre (9,970 feet) high Saumspitze in the Moos Valley, south of St Anton am Arlberg.
The fourth member of the group managed to evade the 100 metre (yard) wide avalanche, which swept the other three over steep and rocky terrain, the police said.
Two people died last weekend in another avalanche in Tyrol.
