Three men have been arrested after a handgun was found in a car following a search by Gardaí in Dublin this afternoon.
As a result of an ongoing operation targeting serious crime in the Dublin West area two cars were stopped on Sarsfield Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, shortly before 3.45pm this afternoon.
The cars and their occupants were searched and a .38 calibre handgun along with four rounds of ammunition were seized.
The three men aged 20, 23 and 31 years respectively are currently being held at Ballyfermot and Clondalkin
Garda Stations under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act.
