Three men were arrested last night after a 24-year-old man was shot in a suspected gangland attack in north Dublin.

Three men were arrested last night after a 24-year-old man was shot in a suspected gangland attack in north Dublin.

The victim was in a group of three men that were approached a gunman at Ardara Road in Donaghmede at around 5.15pm yesterday afternoon.

He was shot once in the upper leg. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he is said to be in a stable condition.

The gunman escaped in a Volvo car driven by another man. The car was later found abandoned and burnt out on the Hole In The Wall Road.

Three people were arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act and can be held for 72 hours before they are charged or released. They are being held separately at Santry, Coolock and Malahide Garda stations.
