Three people have been arrested in connection with a car crash last week in Cork city in which two teenagers lost their lives.

They were arrested at 8am today.

Two men are being held at Gurranabraher Garda station and the third is being detained in Tralee Garda station.

The crash in Cork happened at Harbour View Road in Knocknaheeny at 11.30pm last Thursday when two cars driving in the same direction collided with each other.

A black Volkswagen Golf was in collision with a red Ford Mondeo. Both cars were thrown down a bank below the road. Four occupants of the Ford were brought by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.

CJ Dolan (16), Hollywood Estate, Blarney Road, Cork, was pronounced dead after the two-car collision, while Derry O’Callaghan (19), Killala Gardens, Knocknaheeny, Cork, died at Cork University Hospital on Friday morning.
