Gardaí are today questioning three men following the seizure of cannabis with an estimated street value of up to €240,000 in Co Meath.
Yesterday’s seizure came in a planned operation targeting the activities of a north Dublin criminal gang.
Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit stopped two vans on the N2 at Kentstown at about 1.30pm.
Cannabis herb with an estimated street value of over €80,000 was seized and two men in their 30s were arrested.
They are currently detained in Finglas Garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
In a follow up search at a dwelling in Navan yesterday afternoon, a further quantity of cannabis herb with an estimated street value of nearly €160,000 was seized and a third man in his 40s was arrested.
He is being detained at Kells Garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
