A woman, a man and a boy of five were taken to Limerick Regional Hospital following a two-car collision yesterday. The accident occurred at Barry's Cross, on the main Broadford road in south east Clare at about 9.30 a.m. One of the cars went on fire.
The injured were taken to hospital by ambulance. The child was described as stable in intensive care. The woman was discharged after treatment and the man is stable in casualty.
A 64-year-old woman pedestrian died when struck by a car at Milford, Co Donegal, at 3.15 p.m. yesterday. Gardai are not releasing her name until relatives have been informed.
