Los Angeles - At least three people died and 265 were injured when a freight train ploughed head-on into a packed commuter train near Los Angeles yesterday.
The mile-long freight train hit the southbound Metrolink train at 8.10 a.m., buckling and derailing two carriages crammed with passengers, authorities in Placentia, Orange County, said. "Our train stopped and the next thing you know, boom! it hit," passenger Mr Gene Ogelsby told Fox News.
