Three people were injured in violent assaults in Dublin over the weekend. Early yesterday morning, a man in his 20s was attacked while walking down Fleet Street in Temple Bar.
Three men were charged with public disorder and are due to appear in court this morning. One was also charged with possession of a knife.
A fourth man was in Garda custody in St James's Hospital.
Shortly after 3.40 a.m. on Saturday, a 21-year-old man was stabbed a number of times on Harrington Street.
He was brought to St James's Hospital where he underwent surgery. He remains in a critical condition.
A 35-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a separate incident which occurred 20 minutes earlier on Lord Edward Street. Two men - one from Scotland and one from Northern Ireland - were later charged with offences under the Criminal Justice Act.
Two men, aged 32 and 24, have been charged with assault in connection with an attack on a 50- year-old Chinese man at Fownes Street, Temple Bar, early on Friday.
They were remanded to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Friday morning.
