THE NEW board of the International Fund for Ireland has been named, showing three changes from the outgoing board.
The new members are Mr Eamon Hanna, a partner in Uanna Hennessy & Co, chartered accountants, and chief executive of the Phoenix West Belfast Development Trust Mr Victor Haslett, chairman and chief executive of Willis Corroon Ltd and Ms Lyla Steele, joint proprietor of Silver Hill Foods, Emyvale, Co Monaghan.
They replace Mr John Craig, Mr Pat Kenny and the late Mr Paddy Duffy. The British and Irish governments yesterday expressed "very warm appreciation for the exceptional service given by the outgoing board members.
Mr William McCarter has been reappointed chairman.
Other members of the outgoing aboard reappointed are Ms Joan McCrum, deputy rents officer for Northern Ireland and a management consultant Ms Catriona Murphy, managing director of AIB Capital Markets Corporate Finance Ltd and a member of the ESB board and Mr Brian Slowey, former chairman of Guinness Ireland.
The International Fund for Ireland was established by the Irish and British governments in 1986 with the aim of promoting economic and social development and encouraging contact, dialogue and reconciliation in Northern Ireland.
The United States, the European Union, Australia, Canada and New Zealand are the contributors to the fund.
